Chattanooga Bites – Slick’s

Want a delicious burger or chicken sandwich in Chattanooga? What about some truffle fries and a cold beer? I’m sure you said yes and if so, you need to head to Slick’s!

It’s a local place that is covered in character from the style of the building and location to the food that you order. Burgers come in 3 sizes; the Baby, the Sissy, and the Slick. At 4.0 oz the sissy is more than enough. I have tried to a slick on occasion and it was more than I bargained for! The menu also include salads, hot dogs & even lamb burgers.

My wife loves their fried chicken sandwich with provolone and bacon.

My favorite is the Pittsburgh style with french fries slaw and cheddar cheese and bacon.

For a little adventure I get the baby sizes, which are like sliders, with their different toppings.

This place has been a little jewel of ours to visit. With their great menu and friendly staff Slick’s is definitely some where to come back too.

We often go early on the weekends but they tend to have live music and other events going on, especially in the summer. Check their Facebook to see what’s coming up on their calendar.

Chattanooga Brunch – Maple Street Biscuit Company

20170904_102511

We are definitely fans of breakfast/ brunch spots so when we heard that Maple Street Biscuit Company was opening a second location in Chattanooga we knew we had to check it out. My parents had been to the downtown spot and raved about it but we never made it down there. This new location is right by the mall and all the other little shops we are always going to so it was much more convenient.

Although the name implies delicious biscuits, there is plenty to enjoy on their menu. I’m a major fan of waffles myself (like my girl Leslie Knope lol) so when I saw those on the menu I had to have them. Even better when they come with chicken!

Hubby has become a fan of “The Farmer” which is a biscuit with chicken, bacon cheeses and apple butter. He also grabs the hash brown cake as a favorite side item.

The food was delicious and the service was great too. Everyone was so nice! We’ve been back quite a few times and love to grab a to go order on our lazier days. One of my favorite aspects of the restaurant is the way they call your order. Each time we visit there is a different question posted on a board. Your answer to the question is the name of your order. Questions range from the name of your favorite Disney character to what you’d name your autobiography. It’s funny to hear the responses being yelled out. “Mickey Mouse order up!”

Definitely check them out the next time your in Chattanooga looking for a breakfast bite. You won’t be disappointed!

Chattanooga Brunch – 1885

The following is not a sponsored post. We are just sharing our eating experiences. We encourage you to have your own and share them with us.

So 1885 is an awesome restaurant in the St. Elmo area. Hubs and I usually sit at the bar or the patio when it’s a bit warmer.

I’m a huge fan of their chicken and waffles. I can say they’re the best in town and I’ve had quite a few. It’s one of my favorite brunch choices, especially now that we are giving up pork.🙁 Hubby ordered the Belgian Waffle Bananas Foster (and added chicken because he can eat ALL day).

We have really only been for their brunch on weekends but the regular menu looks delicious as well. We can vouch for the wings for sure 😊 and they have the trophies to prove it. They have some great drinks as well. Hubs likes “Derailed” and “Southern Gentleman”.

We definitely plan on visiting during dinner hours sometime soon!

Enjoy 1885 and let us know what you think!
